The new MISANO Cylinder heads represent an exciting new era
in high performance parts for Ducati Singles bringing levels of
performance until now, not normally available or achievable.
These heads have been designed to produce high performance, initially for 250 and 350 engines.
They will fit onto both wide and narrow case engines and initial performance and durability testing
has been carried out on both. Heads to suit the 450’s will follow soon and are already undergoing
testing. An important design remit was to maintain the appearance of the original Ducati head to
ensure acceptance into all classic and vintage racing organisations around the world.
Improvements have been made where possible to increase durability and strength.
The main design changes have been to the ports and the shape of the combustion chamber. With
the aid of some of the best design minds in Formula 1, sophisticated CFD and engine
performance software, the ports and valve geometry have been optimised.
High quality sand cast in LM25 aluminium alloy from new state of the art patterns.
Special heat treatment to minimise porosity and further heat treatment to HF spec.
Fully CNC machined by an F1 approved supplier to ensure accuracy and quality.
Valve angle - 40 degrees (80 degree inclusive) as per original.
Valve head and stem sizes - 41mm x 7mm inlet, 34mm x 7mm exhaust.
Sintered valve seats compatible with unleaded fuels.
Twin plugged for 10mm plugs. Second plug to the rear of the bevel tunnel as per factory
race bikes and period modification.
Combustion chamber has an extensive continuous squish band.
The head will accept most cams commonly used in Ducati Single without the normal need
to bore the cam tunnel as with the original head.
Compatible with other original cylinder head components: Rockers, Spindles, Bevels, Cam
End Cap and Covers.
